Add trip items directly
Use this when you want to create a personal item directly inside one trip without going through a dictionary page first.
- Click the Dashboard toolbar button, expand the Trip section and click on the Trips link
- Select the trip you want to work in.
- Open the Trip section again and select Items.
- Click the Add button with the plus icon. The Add Trip Item form opens.
- Enter the item name. Add category, notes, units, value, and an optional bag if you already know where the item should be packed.
- Click Submit.
- Plantour saves the item in that trip and returns you to the Trip Items list.
This creates a trip-specific item. It belongs to that trip, not to your reusable dictionary.
Copy items from your Items dictionary into a trip
Use this when the item already exists in your reusable Items dictionary and you want to include it in one trip.
- Open the toolbar Dictionary menu and select Items.
- Open the actions bar in the page header and choose the target option.
- Choose the trip you want to send items to.
- Narrow the list to the items you want by filtering or sorting if needed.

- To copy one item, click the add button on that row. To copy many visible items at once, use the page-level plus button.
- Plantour copies the selected dictionary items into the chosen trip`s Trip Items list.
Copy template items into a trip
Use this when you want to start from ready-made template suggestions and place them into your personal trip item list.
- Open the toolbar Dictionary menu and select Template items.
- Open the target option in the actions bar and choose the trip you want to work in.
- Filter the template list by Template, Activity, Temperature Range, Age, Category, or Name until only the items you want are shown.

- To copy one visible template item, click the add button on that row. To copy many visible template items at once, use the page-level plus button.
- Plantour copies the selected template items into that trip`s Trip Items list.
Copy AI recommendations into a trip
Use this when you want Plantour to generate item suggestions from your trip description and then place the useful ones into your personal trip item list.
- Open the toolbar Dictionary menu and select AI prompts.
- Type a prompt or choose one of the recent prompts from the dropdown list.
- Describe the trip clearly, such as destination, weather, activities, trip length, or traveler age, then click Ask AI.
- When the recommendations appear, choose the trip you want as the target.

- To copy one recommendation, click the add button on that row. To copy many visible recommendations at once, use the page-level plus button.
- Plantour copies the selected AI recommendations into that trip`s Trip Items list.
Update a trip item
Use this when you want to change a trip item that already belongs to one trip.
- Open Trip > Items for the selected trip.
- Select the trip item you want to change so it is highlighted.
- Click the Update button with the pencil icon. The Edit Trip Item form opens.
- Change the fields you want to update, such as name, category, notes, units, value, or selected bag.
- Click Submit.
- Plantour saves the updated trip item and returns you to the trip item list.
Updating a trip item changes only that trip item. It does not change the original item in your reusable Items dictionary.
Delete a trip item
Use this when you want to remove an item from one trip.
- Open Trip > Items for the selected trip.
- Select the trip item you want to remove so it is highlighted.
- Click the Delete button with the trash icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
- Plantour removes the item from that trip`s Trip Items list.
Deleting a trip item affects only that trip. It does not delete the original item from your reusable Items dictionary. To continue with bag-related workflows, read What options do I have to pack the trip items?.
