Create a trip
Use this when you want to start a new trip that will later contain participants, items, todos, bags, comments, and other trip data.
- Open the Dashboard, expand the Trip section, and click Trips.
- Click the Add button with the plus icon. The Add Trip form opens.
- Enter the trip name.
- Choose the trip status if needed.
- Enter the start date and end date.
- Add notes if you want to save extra trip information.
- Click Submit.
- Plantour saves the trip, returns you to the Trips list, and highlights the new trip.
After a trip is created, Plantour uses the selected trip as the main context for trip-specific pages such as Trip Participants, Trip Items, Trip Todos, Trip Bags, Itinerary, Activities, Expenses, Notes, and Comments.
Select and review a trip
Selecting a trip is important because many pages in the Trip menu use the current trip as their working context.
- Navigate to Trips via the Dashboard.
- Click the trip you want to work with so it becomes highlighted.
- Review the trip summary text in the list row, such as dates, participants, bags, and other trip details.
- If needed, use filtering by Name or Trip Status and sorting by Name to narrow the list before selecting the trip.
- After the trip is selected, open other pages from the Trip menu to work inside that trip.
Update a trip
Use this when you need to change the trip name, dates, notes, or status.
- Navigate to Trips via the Dashboard.
- Select the trip you want to change so it is highlighted.
- Click the Update button with the pencil icon. The Edit Trip form opens.
- Change the fields you want to update.
- Click Submit.
- Plantour saves the updated trip and returns you to the trip list.
Delete a trip
Use this when you want to remove a trip and its trip-specific data from your account.
- Navigate to Trips via the Dashboard.
- Select the trip you want to remove so it is highlighted.
- Click the Delete button with the trash icon.
- Confirm the deletion.
- Plantour removes the trip from the Trips list.
Because the trip is the container for trip-specific data, deleting it removes access to that trip`s participants, items, todos, bags, comments, and related trip content.
Download a trip PDF
Use this when you want a document version of the trip information.
- Navigate to Trips via the Dashboard.
- Select the trip you want to export so it is highlighted.
- Open the page menu in the header.
- Choose Download Trip PDF.
- Plantour generates and downloads the trip report as a PDF file.
Use the trip as your working context
Once a trip is selected, you usually continue into one of the trip-specific pages.
- Navigate to Trips via the Dashboard and select the trip you want to work in.
- Return to the Dashboard, expand the Trip section again,
- and choose the next page you want to work with, such as Participants, Items, Todos, Bags, or Comments.
- Work on that selected trip`s data there.
This is the normal starting point for trip-specific workflows. For example, after selecting a trip you can continue with What can I do with trip items?.
